What A Difference A Year Makes!

What A Difference A Year Makes!

I cannot believe the year is almost over! I have been reflecting on the past few years and it is amazing the difference that a year can make. This time last year, we had just found out that we were pregnant after struggling for so long to get pregnant.  We did our second embryo transfer the week of Thanksgiving, which was a massive secret to keep during the holiday with our families. We then had to wait a week and finally got the good news we were pregnant!

With having an ectopic almost exactly a year prior, I was beyond nervous something was going to go wrong. Well, I had reason to think something was going to be wrong. I started bleeding badly. I was pretty much seen weekly at our specialists office for ultrasounds because I kept bleeding. Right before Christmas, we both had the day off and we were Christmas shopping.  Ben had just bought something from Dick's and as we're walking out I feel this massive gush. We go to Target and I confirm that I'm heavily bleeding. We're almost to the hospital when my specialist says they'd rather see me than go to the emergency room. So, we make the 1.5 hour trek to my doctors.

Thank God everything was fine! That was probably the most nerve wrecking drive thinking you're miscarrying the entire way there.  We were able to here little Jack's heart beat and they were able to confirm everything was fine and they weren't sure why I was bleeding.  Our bodies are amazing and scary at the same time.

Two weeks later, we were cleared from my specialist and found out we were having a little boy! That was the best ending to such a stressful and long process.  We had come to the conclusion that we were never going to get pregnant and had accepted that fate as everything we tried failed.

Now, we have a 5 month happy little boy, we love to pieces! We are beyond excited to celebrate Christmas with our new family!

Happy Holidays!
